Analogue and digital link between the horticultural process computer and grow light system

The Horticulture Control Unit is the heart of the Climalux full-LED grow light system. This control unit creates an analogue and digital link between the horticultural process computer and grow light system. It enables the user to quickly adjust the lights and fans to the required level, as well as anticipate changing weather conditions.

It also facilitates increasing the number of groups. For example, a primary grow light group can be made per section, complemented by a secondary group for walkway lighting, work lights, etc.

A suitable HCU for every project

Climalux offers two HCU series. Climalux can monitor, adjust and upload software updates to both series remotely.


The CTR series, with a maximum capacity of eight light group units, is suitable for an area of approximately five hectares. The control unit is positioned centrally in the greenhouse and can be flexibly controlled and operated.


The MOD series is a more compact control unit, with a separate digital interface for the user. It is suitable for areas of up to two hectares and can be connected limitlessly to realise larger scale projects.

Operating modes

This mode automatically connects the system to your horticultural process computer, using either analogue (4-20mA) control signals or via a digital Modbus-TCP connection. We are also compatible with the standardised Horti Lighting Protocol (HLP) module I and II, for easy connection with Priva, Hoogendoorn and Ridder climate computers. Your familiar horticultural process computer will then control the unit.

Offers the option to upload a time-based lighting plan to the HCU. This control method makes it possible to apply a grow light system to small-scale projects or trials without daylight; no connection to a horticultural process computer is required.

Control method via rotary knobs or touch screen. This enables the settings of the grow light system to be adjusted manually during work activities, maintenance or malfunctions. Meaning you always stay in control.

This mode, for use by technicians and service engineers, is intended for system configuration. This enables the service settings of the grow light systems to be adjusted, including starting times and maximum light intensity.

Both series are compatible with the Horti Lighting Protocol module I and II, for easy connection with Hoogendoorn, Priva and Ridder climate computers.
