During the GreenTech in Amsterdam, Climalux will present the new Power Supply Unit (SMC 4000) developed in-house. The SMC 4000 power supply is a 4 kW continuously dimmable LED driver, which supplies power to up to four CLX V1000 grow lights. The PSU works on a stand-alone basis and can be controlled externally via the Climalux Horticultural Control Unit, possibly linked to external horticultural process computers such as Hoogendoorn, Priva and Ridder, in accordance with the Horti Lighting Protocol (HLP).

The Climalux grow light creates a microclimate around each species, caused by the vertical air movement in combination with the adjustable light intensity.
HortiTech recently carried out a trial with the use of Climalux grow lights in hydrangea cultivation at Huub van Leeuwen Westland. The results showed that the use of these grow lights has made the use of inhibitors almost unnecessary. The hydrangeas in this trial were not exposed to light, the grow lights were mainly used because of the vertical ventilation system.
The development of a waterproof PSU lamp cable, in collaboration with Draka Kabel from Emmen, means that Climalux from Hoek van Holland can now offer its lighting systems as completely waterproof, which virtually excludes failures and reduces maintenance to a minimum.
Grower Bart van Leeuwen of Kwekerij Huub van Leeuwen in Naaldwijk considers it important to anticipate the future. That is why he started a trial last year with full-LED lights and fans above some of his pot and bedding plants. The first results are promising, but also raise new questions.
