The development of a waterproof PSU lamp cable, in collaboration with Draka Kabel from Emmen, means that Climalux from Hoek van Holland can now offer its lighting systems as completely waterproof, which virtually excludes failures and reduces maintenance to a minimum.

HortiTech recently carried out a trial with the use of Climalux grow lights in hydrangea cultivation at Huub van Leeuwen Westland. The results showed that the use of these grow lights has made the use of inhibitors almost unnecessary. The hydrangeas in this trial were not exposed to light, the grow lights were mainly used because of the vertical ventilation system.

Almost the entire greenhouse of Anjerkwekerij Nieuwland in Hoek van Holland has recently been fitted with CLX V1000 grow lights from Climalux. In the carnation nursery there are various types of single and spray carnations and the ages of the crops differ. The Climalux grow light creates a microclimate around each species, caused by the vertical air movement in combination with the adjustable light intensity.

The Climalux CLX-V1000 grow light system was recently connected to the Priva Connext horticultural process computer at Carnation Nursery Nieuwland in Hoek van Holland. This makes it possible to communicate with the Horticulture Control Unit of Climalux. As a result, it is now possible to optimally integrate any Climalux grow light system into Priva's horticultural computer systems.

On 18 February 2021 Climalux organized an online knowledge event, where the latest top LED lighting for horticultural purposes, the CLX V1000, has been introduced. At the digital event, the technical possibilities are explained and the findings from practice were shared.

These and more issues were answered during the online knowledge event 'Climalux introduces new top LED lighting CLX V1000' on 18 February 2021. During this one-hour event, the viewer was introduced to the LED grow lamp, which increases production with substantially less energy due to the use of the light spectrum of the sun.

Grower Bart van Leeuwen of Kwekerij Huub van Leeuwen in Naaldwijk considers it important to anticipate the future. That is why he started a trial last year with full-LED lights and fans above some of his pot and bedding plants. The first results are promising, but also raise new questions.

Several years ago, the horticultural sector has started to use LEDs as artificial light systems. However, developments were still needed in terms of efficiency. With a smart combination of new LEDs, steering and cooling technology, Climalux is making headways with the CLX V1000; an artificial lighting system which can be used without supplemental light like HPS.
